The Ashtabula Foundation was established in 1922 by Mr. R.H. Pfaff, a prominent Ashtabula Entrepreneur and philanthropist.  With the help of contributions and bequests, Mr. Pfaff's original $5000 investment has become almost Twenty-Million Dollars strong.  We are required to distribute 5% of our asset value annually to not-for-profit, 501(c) (3) organizations. All grant requests are investigated and reviewed by a volunteer board of trustees comprised of long time Ashtabula County residents.  The primary prerequisite for granting any request is that the residents of Ashtabula County are the ultimate beneficiaries.
